The Media's Double Standard for Governor Palin vs. President Obama

“This speaks to a bigger picture here that certainly scares me in terms of our national security policy. But obviously we’ve gotta stand with our North Korean allies.”  - Sarah Palin making a verbal slip on the Glenn Beck Show.

Of course the "gotcha" state-run media immediately ran with this story further "justifying" Palin as not up to the caliber of a presidential contender.  Never mind the fact that Palin throughout the very same interview, including just seconds before the above slip had correctly stated our relationship with South Korea and North Korea as she has done continuously in many previous interviews in the past.

Evidently the press, once again, has double standards when it comes to broadcasting her simple slip of the tongue, and yet one rarely if ever hears of the doozies from our current president from that same media.  Governor Palin responded with a fantastic post on Facebook that points out the hypocrisy, accordingly.  Following is an excerpt from her posting that clearly makes her point, complete with links for the millions of Americans that might not ever have heard of these silly slips of the tongue from President Obama:

"My fellow Americans in all 57 states, the time has changed for come. With our country founded more than 20 centuries ago, we have much to celebrate – from the FBI’s 100 days to the reforms that bring greater inefficiencies to our health care system. We know that countries like Europe are willing to stand with us in our fight to halt the rise of privacy, and Israel is a strong friend of Israel’s. And let’s face it, everybody knows that it makes no sense that you send a kid to the emergency room for a treatable illness like asthma and they end up taking up a hospital bed. It costs, when, if you, they just gave, you gave them treatment early, and they got some treatment, and ah, a breathalyzer, or an inhalator. I mean, not a breathalyzer, ah, I don’t know what the term is in Austrian for that…"

United Kingdom Member of European Union Parliament Excoriates Their Corruption

United Kingdom Independence Party Member of the European Parliament Nigel Farage pulls absolutely no punches when excoriating the corruption and incompetence of the European Union.

Mr. Farage is absolutely correct in his assessment, and I find it ironic that as many European countries are now beginning to see the dire consequences of their practices of socialism and one world governance, they are now starting to make changes to correct these problems, all the while the progressives in America rush to emulate what is obviously and absolutely not working in Europe. And they consider themselves the "enlightened ones".

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to my family, friends, blog readers, and indeed, to all Americans.  May God continue to bless all of us and to have us be aware in our hearts, minds, and souls so that we are always grateful for His abundant blessings in our lives!  May God continue to bless America!

The Anti-Semitic United Nations Seeks to Erase Jewish History in Israel

The United Nations has once again reared its anti-Semitic head.  This inept and corrupt organization has long been nothing more but a platform for anti-Semetic nations to spew their hatred for America and for Israel, in particular.  America should have long ago resigned from this useless and dangerous world governance body.  Former American Ambassador to the UN, John Bolton, was correct when he said that the top five floors of the UN building in New York could be removed and the world would not know the difference.  Now, once again, the UN, through its UN Education, Scientific, and Cultural Organization's, (UNESCO)  has absurdly attacked the very fabric of Jewish culture which is at the soul of Israel.

The Executive Board of UNESCO has declared 2 of Judaism's holiest sites (The Tomb of the Patriarchs and the Tomb of Rachel) to be mosques and demand that Israel remove the sites from its National Heritage list.

In an effort to erase Jewish history and supersede Jewish religious sites with Islamic institutions, Muslims have intentionally built mosques upon numerous synagogues and Jewish holy sites.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office decried the ludicrous nature of the UNESCO decision:

“The attempt to detach the Nation of Israel from its heritage is absurd. If the nearly 4,000-year-old burial sites of the Patriarchs and Matriarchs of the Jewish Nation – Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel and Leah –are not part of its culture and tradition, then what is a national cultural site?”

In cooperating with efforts to erase Jewish historical ties to Israel , UNESCO is aiding and abetting those who hope to and obfuscate Israel ’s Jewish past and undermine Israel ’s Jewish future.

I strongly encourage you to please sign the petition  below to let UNESCO know that this is absurd and will not stand.

Barney Frank Laments Having to Enact Tough Spending Cuts in Coming GOP-Controlled House

When the 112th Congress convenes this coming January and the Republicans take control of the House of Representatives, evidently Representative Barney Frank D-MA is worried that he won't have any fun because instead of trying to find ways to spend the American taxpayers' money, the GOP is going to be looking for ways to cut such spending.

Indeed, Barney Frank, who is the current House Financial Services Chairman, has said that serving on the Appropriations Committee in the Republican-controlled House of Representatives will be a “great pain in the ass."  He continues, “Fascinating fact, apparently for the first time in anybody’s memory, members of Congress have declined seats on the Appropriations Committee,” Frank said Nov. 18 during a CATO Institute panel on defense spending.

“The Appropriations Committee, which has been a great plum, is now going to be a great pain in the ass because you’re going to be expected to come up with cuts in things that are very popular, et cetera," said Frank.

Don't you feel badly for one of the chief person's responsible for the gross mismanagement and the ensuing collapse of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, thus providing the catalyst for the decimation of America's housing market and the economy on whole?  He laments that it won't be fun being on the appropriations committee anymore because instead of reckless abandon spending, congress will now have to make some serious and sometimes difficult choices in spending cuts.

Congressman Frank, you are an embarrassment to the House of Representatives and the American people.  It does not speak well of your constituents that they foolishly decided to return one of the architects of our nation's economic decline to his seat in congress.

Judging by this recent statement of yours, evidently you still do not get the message either.  Evidently the people of your district in Massachusetts have insulated you from the consequences of your actions directly, but the nation as a whole has taken notice and intends to fix what you and other tax and spend progressives of both parties have broken.

The DREAM Act Amnesty Bill To Be Brought Up For Vote In Lame Duck Senate

The so-called DREAM Act (The Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors Act) was originally an amendment attached to the Defense Authorization Act that the Republicans were able to successfully thwart passage of previously.  Now Harry Reid is promising to bring up the DREAM Act as a stand alone bill in the Senate in a lame duck session of congress as early as next Monday.  This bill has already met with successful passage in the House of Representatives under Nancy Pelosi's leadership there.

Reid and the Democrats realize that this is likely their only remaining opportunity to pass this type of amnesty legislation before the Republicans take control of the House and narrow the Democrats' majority in the senate to near parity with the convening of the 112th congress this coming January.

The DREAM Act, which was originally proposed by Republican Senator Orin Hatch of Utah and Democrat Dick Durbin of Illinois, is little more than an amnesty package that covers illegal alien "children" up to 35 years of age.  It would effectively grant amnesty to these illegal aliens who have either graduated from high school, earned their GED, or served in the U.S. military well into their adulthood.

Personally, I oppose Harry Reid’s desperate attempt to pass his backdoor amnesty plan during the Lame Duck session of Congress.  The DREAM Act is little more than an educational initiative that would allow millions of illegal aliens who meet a very loose definition of the term ‘student’ to qualify for green cards.  Additionally, the DREAM Act would funnel taxpayer monies away from legal residents and into the pockets of illegal aliens.

Already in my current state of Utah, illegal aliens are granted in-state tuition rates for college education.  I find this to be ludicrous.  A United States citizen living right across the border in Idaho would have to pay out-of-state tuition, but someone that is not even in the country legally gets the same benefits as an American citizen and legal resident of the state of Utah.  Now with the possible passage of the DREAM Act, not only will illegal aliens get in-state tuition, but will be granted green cards with a path to citizenship.

This is absolutely preposterous and it is such concern for illegal aliens at the expense of Americans that has precipitated a lot of resentment from a large majority of the American populace.  This disregard for doing the will of the American people is also the exact reason why Senator Hatch's colleague from Utah, Senator Bennett, was beaten in a GOP primary earlier this year and is slated to be replaced by conservative Senator-elect Mike Lee.  Senator Hatch, with his similar disregard, has similarly been put on notice that he likely will be challenged for his seat in 2012 accordingly.

According to Grassfire Nation, a grass roots conservative organization that fights to protect our Constitutional rights, has stated that their  contacts suggest that there are a number of Republican fence sitters who haven't yet committed their voting intentions on the DREAM Act.  Unfortunately, they did not identify who these specific senators were.  I would strongly encourage everyone to contact your own two senators and ensure that they do not vote for passage of this backdoor amnesty bill accordingly.  If passed, the DREAM Act will be little more than the proverbial camel's nose under the tent wall.  The next resulting action will be a herd of camels in our American tent.

North Korea Attacks South Korean Island of Yeonpyeong Today

Today, starting around 2:00 PM local time, North Korea escalated rising tensions precipitously by opening up with an artillery barrage on South Korea's Yeonpyeong island, about 75 miles west of the coast near the disputed border between North and South Korea.

South Korea returned artillery fire and scrambled jets to protect the area.  Sources say that approximately 200 shells were fired between the two sides until approximately 3:30 PM local time.  In addition to the people killed or injured, several houses and buildings were destroyed as columns of black smoke were reported rising from the island which has a population of 1,200 to 1,300 people.

Latest reports said that two South Korean marines were killed and twenty other people, both civilian and military, were injured in the attack.  There was understandably no report on casualties inflicted on North Korea by South Korea's retaliatory barrage.

This is the second major incident and act of war perpetrated by Kim Jong Il and North Korea upon the South Koreans this year.  Earlier on March 26th, a South Korean naval vessel was sunk by what is assumed to have been a torpedo from a North Korean submarine.  Many South Korean sailors died in the unanswered attack.  North Korea, characteristically, denied having done so.

The White House issued a statement on today's attack through Press Secretary Gibbs saying, "The United States strongly condemns this attack and calls on North Korea to halt its belligerent action and to fully abide by the terms of the Armistice Agreement."  Further, Gibbs continued, "The United States is firmly committed to the defense of our ally, the Republic of Korea, and to the maintenance of regional peace and stability."

Currently there are approximately 30,000 United States troops stationed in South Korea to protect the good people there and maintain security along the border with North Korea that had been established in the armistice during the cease fire at the end of the Korean War in 1953.

Earlier this month, President Obama stated in a speech given to American troops stationed there that, "Pyongyang should not be mistaken: The United States will never waver in our commitment to the security of the Republic of Korea. We will not waver."

So as the escalation of tensions in the region increase due to the unpredictable dictator Kim Jong Il, who recently announced that his son Kim Jong Un would be his heir to the leadership of North Korea, the world watches as North Korea now has committed inarguably at least two acts of war against its southern neighbor just this year.  Further, Kim Jong Il has stated that North Korea now has a new uranium enrichment facility, presumably to create more fuel for nuclear weapons.

The situation here is indeed delicate, but these unprovoked attacks warrant a strong and unambiguous response from South Korea, the United States, and the world.  Placating or de-escalating the situation through concessions and/or appeasement of this rogue regime will ultimately only invite more of the same behaviour in the long run.

Already, Japan is on high alert in the region and fears of this situation spreading out of control are not unreasonable.  China, which is pretty much the main benefactor of North Korea and by far the most important nation responsible for what commerce and goods that the isolationist regime has, must condemn these actions in clear and absolute terms.  The United States must use all influence to ensure that China does so, otherwise sooner or later the stakes will be too high and South Korea and 30,000 American service members will be in extreme jeopardy.

Code Pink and Pax Christi Join in War Protests

I ran into this interesting post over at Lisa Grass' blog regarding the alliance between the militant leftist group Code Pink and the ostensibly Catholic group Pax Christi USA in protesting America's use of drone attacks in the war in Afghanistan.  These groups have tried to bring attention to the "indiscriminate" use  of lethal force against terrorists by staging mock drone attacks in several U.S. cities to draw public and media attention to their cause.

I am perplexed and a little taken aback that any "Catholic" group would join with Code Pink, since it is so outwardly hostile to the United States and the military that defends it.  I can understand and appreciate people of good conscience protesting war, despite the fact that the absence of war does not typically denote peace and is frankly rather naive; however, aligning with a group that is often at odds with the basic tenets of our nation is frankly highly detrimental to their ultimate cause of that elusive peace.

Code Pink has intentionally been inflammatory in their language to the point of being absurd for a group that ostensibly wishes for peace.  Their hateful speech towards the military and America in general can almost always be found at their rallies or demonstrations.  Note the pictures in this posting as typical of the type of hateful rhetoric that these "peace activists" spew.

Anyway, Lisa, as always, does an excellent job with the posting and I highly recommend checking out the rest of the story at her blog here.

ALERT: United Nations CEDAW: Open Assault On Everything We Believe In

In light of my recent research I have been doing lately on the pernicious United Nations, I received an ironically well-timed email  from a fellow blogger on a similar UN topic.  I thought it quite worthy of posting his article here as well accordingly.  ~ T. Paine

Guest Post by Spencer.  You can read Spencer at Books, Bones, Bricks, and Bullets

I need everyone's attention on this one, so please, listen up.

Sorry I'm late on this; I hope it isn't too late to call now. As of this afternoon, I was able to make my calls (one attendant even asked me before I got a word out, "Are you opposed to CEDAW?"), so it was at least undecided then.

It's called the United Nations Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women. Sounds pretty good, doesn't it? Anti-women ideology is something I particularly hate; few things disgust me more. So might I be in favor of this international treaty? Should you be?

The answer is as easy as one word: NO! Let me tell you why; please bear with me. This is some of the most important information you've heard in a while.

First and foremost, you need to get informed on this issue, and fast. See this article here; please check it out, it's quick and informative.

Second, I have a copied-pasted email from PRO below (yes, the good folks at ParentalRights.org are making moves on this issue as well, due to its massive implications on all families everywhere); it has the calling information.

Third, if you aren't convinced yet, let me condense the issue for you. Or rather, let me allow Michael Farris to condense the issue for you, via an excerpt of the article.

The Preamble of the CEDAW treaty boldly proclaims: “A change in the traditional role of men as well as the role of women in society and in the family is needed to achieve full equality between men and women.”

That is not the only megalomaniacal goal of this treaty. Its Preamble also calls for a “new international economic order” and “general and complete disarmament” both of which are deemed necessary to “contribute to the attainment of full equality between men and women.”

It is a “modest” agenda. Restructuring the family. A worldwide socialist economy. Total disarmament. All neatly packaged in a handy little treaty on women’s rights.

The UN CEDAW (Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women)

A "complete disarmament" (this time, they actually came out and said it). A reversal of Biblical family life, a reversal of Biblical family roles. An enforced feminist and socialist agenda. All conducted from the oversight of the United Nations (which means the sacrifice of American sovereignty). Is this what you want?

If that doesn't convince you, then nothing will. I don't know the status of CEDAW as of Friday night/tonight, but perhaps some calls Monday morning are in order? (And how about some prayer, as well?)

After all, it's only everything that's at stake.

And here's the original PRO email, with accompanying calling information:
The United Nations’ Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) is being considered today in a Senate foreign relations sub-committee hearing. ParentalRights.org urges you to call your senators and instruct them to oppose this treaty.

Here is a link to Michael Farris’ paper regarding the dangers of CEDAW, in which he warns, “Feminist internationalists intend to use international law to coerce the restructuring of the institution of the family and the role of every man and every woman on the planet.”

Understand, this is not the United Nations’ Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), of which we have been warning you for so long. Like that treaty, however, CEDAW seeks to establish U.N. authority over American domestic law, and to redefine forever the role and function of the family in American society. Like the CRC, CEDAW also contains obligations far beyond its beneficent title. And like the CRC, CEDAW is part of a net of international human rights treaties which strengthen and play off of each other, so that ratification of any one leads in part to the adoption of all the others.

For instance, the CRC’s aim to make “reproductive health services” an undeniable right of adolescent girls regardless of parental involvement would be realized just as securely through ratification of CEDAW as it would through ratification of the CRC.

Perhaps most dangerous, the CEDAW committee has claimed, just as the CRC committee has, that their convention is a “dynamic instrument,” and that the committee has the ability over time to clarify the broad obligations of the treaty with an increasing degree of specificity as they progress toward their own world-wide agenda.

While the ratification or defeat of CEDAW is not the primary focus of ParentalRights.org, we must acknowledge that its ratification would be damaging to parents in the United States, while its defeat would be a victory for ourselves and for our allies.

So please, take a moment and read Michael Farris’ article here.

Then, call your senator if he is on the Senate Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Human Rights Law, or chairman Senator Durbin if yours is not. Urge them to oppose ratification of CEDAW and any other U.N. human rights treaty.

The members of the Subcommittee on Human Rights Law include:

Richard Durbin (IL), Chairman: (202) 224-2152
Russell Feingold (WI): (202) 224-5323
Benjamin Cardin (MD): (202) 224-4524
Chris Coons (DE): (202) 224-5042
Arlen Specter (PA): (202) 224-4254
Al Franken (MN): (202) 224-5641
Lindsey Graham (SC): (202) 224-5972

Senators Tom Coburn (OK) and John Cornyn (TX) are also on the subcommittee but do not need to be called, as they both oppose CEDAW already.

Sincerely,

Michael Ramey
Director of Communications and Research

So please, take a moment to call on Monday (or, if you like, leave voicemail messages over the weekend). If you do call, then I thank you heartily, and I'd ask you to please let me know in the comments section. If you do not comment, I will have to assume that you did not call.

Also, I beg you all to please tell everyone you know about this, ASAP, via whatever method you choose (blogging, email, facebook, twitter, or anything else you use).

Let's cut off this viper's head, shall we?

The Recent Chastisement of America by the UN Human Rights Council

A little over two weeks ago, the United Nations Human Rights Council held a meeting of 47 member nations of said council to discuss pertinent issues.  Waiting in line overnight to secure first positions at the podium in order to excoriate the United States were such stalwart human rights abiding nations as Cuba, Iran, and Venezuela.  Russia, North Korea, and Nicaragua also were highly critical of the U.S. as were some of our supposed friends like France and the United Kingdom.

Their criticisms ranged from topics such as our discrimination against minorities and women, to the death penalty, and Guantanamo Bay detention of enemy combatants.

Under President Bush the United States refused to join the UN HRC so as to avoid giving corrupt and egregious abusing nations a platform by which to criticize America.  Indeed, Cuba is even a co-chair of the council despite longtime horrific human rights violations within their nation.  President Obama changed this and had America join the HRC so as to try and improve human rights from within the system rather than from criticizing from the periphery, so the administration has claimed.

According to former UN ambassador under President Bush, John Bolton stated, "“For the Obama administration, this is an exercise in self flagellation, which they seem to enjoy but it doesn’t prompt equivalent candor from the real rights abusers.”

A delegation of top officials, led by Assistant Secretary of State Esther Brimmer, gave diplomats at the U.N. Human Rights Council a detailed account of U.S. human rights shortcomings and the Obama administration's efforts to redress them.   This included a 22 page report assembled to detail these issues.

Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.), a Cuban American who is likely to become chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said in a statement that the rights council "is dominated by rogue regimes, including Cuba, which serves as vice-chair. So long as the inmates are allowed to run the asylum, the Human Rights Council will continue to stand in the way of justice, not promote it.  The U.S. should walk out of this rogues’ gallery and seek to build alternative forums that will actually focus on abuses and deny membership to abusers.”

Nicaragua's envoy, Carlos Robelo Raffone said on the podium that, "The United States of America, since its very origin, has used force indiscriminately as the central pillar of its policy of conquest and expansionism, causing death and destruction. We would like to forget the past . . . but unfortunately, the United States of America, which pretends to be the guardian of human rights in the world, questioning other countries, has been and continues to be the one which most systematically violates human rights."

Only Germany's envoy, Konrad Scharinger, stood for the United States and indeed scolded some of America's most strident critics. "We have noted with interest that some of the states which are on the first places of today's speakers list had spared no effort to be the first to speak on the U.S.  We would hope that those states will show the same level of commitment when it comes to improving their human rights record at home."
When our executive branch seemingly is even against our own country, I am thankful for Angela Merkel and our friends in Germany.  At least the whole world has not gone completely mad... yet.

Nancy Pelosi and Democrats' Many Ethics Violations Have Caused Failure to "Drain the Swamp"

"Drain the swamp means to turn this congress into the most honest and open congress in history.  That is my pledge.  That is what I intend to do," so said Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi upon the Democrats' recovering control of the House of Representatives and the beginning of her term as Speaker during George W. Bush's administration.  Needless to say Pelosi has failed thoroughly and completely in living up to this pledge.

Instead, under her tenure, the abuses of house members, particularly those of her own party, have increased dramatically.  This is a hugely contributing factor in why congress has an 11% unfavorable rating under her leadership; the lowest in history.

Now with the outcome of yesterday's subcommittee hearing, where Democratic Representative Charlie Rangel was found guilty of 11 out of 13 ethics charges, this only further exemplifies the abject failure of Pelosi to ensure that she led the "most ethical house" in history.  Indeed, Pelosi ignored the charges against Rangel and tried to offer a reprimand plea deal so as to spare him and thereby her, any further embarrassment.

Pelosi herself was caught in a scandal, that predictably went nowhere due to a Democratic majority and disinterest from the liberal mainstream media, when she tried to raise harsh criticisms against the Bush administration for having used enhanced interrogation techniques (such as waterboarding) on specific high level terrorists.  Despite her and Rep Porter Goss being the first House members briefed on the intended use of such techniques, she later stated that, "I can say flat-out, they never told us that these enhanced interrogations were being used."  The Obama administration's CIA director, Leon Panetta, and Mr. Goss have both disputed Mrs. Pelosi's account.

Now, the Democrats today have gone and re-elected Pelosi as their minority party leader for the 112th congress.  This should make things remarkably favorable for the GOP to retain and likely gain even more seats in congress in 2012, because evidently the Democrats are comfortable living in a swamp.

111 Health Care Waivers Handed Out by Obama Whitehouse

It would seem that the new Obamacare act, which was sold to America as being necessary to help us little guys by reducing health care costs, and the uninsured by bringing them into the fold where they would finally have coverage is once again being "modified".  That modification takes the form of 111 waivers being granted to entities that will not have to abide by the dictates of this unfair, exorbitantly expensive, and unconstitutional law.  They will in fact be exempted.

Of these entities being granted waivers, all of them are huge corporations such as McDonalds and Jack in the Box, or similarly large unions.  It would seem that what congress expects us individuals and the small mom & pop businesses to abide by is not going to be mandated for some of our largest American companies and biggest unions.  Never mind the fact that congress exempted itself from being covered by the Obamacare act from the very beginning.

So evidently, what was theoretically purported to "help" the poor and average American will indeed create shortages in care and rising prices accordingly, while some of our biggest companies and labor unions will be exempted from the egregious costs of having to comply with this law.  This strikes me of being further incontrovertible proof that the notion of the Democratic Party looking out for the average working man is indeed a dead concept, along with the idea of fairness under the law.

Dennis Prager on the Middle East Problem

As is typical, Dennis Prager does an exemplary job in getting to the heart of the matter when it comes to defining the problems between Israel and the Palestinian people in the Middle East.  As he says, the problem is simple to define.  Indeed, Prager asks an interesting hypothetical question: What would the result be if the Israeli's were to announce that they were unilaterally disarming themselves and wished only for peace?  The same question is then asked what the result would be should the Palestinians make the same declaration.  It is fairly evident in the former case that the complete annihilation of Israel would result at the hands of her enemies.  In the latter case, it is safe to deduct that there would finally be peace in this section of the Middle East.  Evidently the solution is far more difficult to enact than it is to define the problem.

US 9th Circuit Court to Allow 11 Countries to Weigh In on Az Immigration Law's Constitutionality

I admit that I am exceptionally perplexed, vexed, and of the opinion that the United States government, with the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in particular has gone completely mad.  It has now been reported that the undeniably liberal activist 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, which is understandably the most over-turned court in the nation, has once again decided to not follow Constitutional guidelines while adjudicating a case.

It would seem that they are bowing to international law, with the tacit (perhaps explicit) approval of the United States Department of Justice, in allowing eleven southern nations to weigh in on the "un-Constitutional" nature of the state of Arizona's new anti-illegal immigration law.  Needless to say Arizona Governor, Jan Brewer, is angry along with tens of millions of other Americans, and is trying to understand whereby foreign nations should be allowed any say whatsoever in regards to the case of the sovereign state of Arizona in the assumed sovereign nation of the United States of America when it comes to enforcing its international border security.

The 9th Circuit is allowing dissenting opinion on Arizona's immigration law to be accepted from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Mexico, Nicaragua, Paraguay, and Peru.  The irony, and indeed hypocrisy of allowing dissent in a sovereign nation's disposition on one of its state's laws is that nearly all of these countries have exceptionally tough illegal immigration laws of their own that typically imprison any such violators of these immigration laws on their first offense.

Of course, Mexican President Felipe Calderon has been an outspoken critic of Arizona's clamping down on illegal immigration, due to the federal government's egregious failings in not protecting our nation's southern border from the exodus of illegal aliens flooding into America from across that same border.  Note that Mexico has exceptionally tough illegal immigration laws and indeed has very tight security across it's southern border with Guatemala.

The fact that international law and self-interested views from foreign nations are being considered and actually solicited by our federal court system and the Obama Department of Justice is inexcusable when deciding a matter that by its very nature must be determined by the sovereignty of the Federal Government under the dictates of the United States Constitution alone.

The creeping ingress of globalization and international law trumping the dictates of American Constitutional law should not and cannot be abided.  Attorney General Eric Holder and President Obama, I implore you to defend your oaths to protect and defend America and its Constitution from right now going forward.  Otherwise, this is indeed an egregious and pernicious offense that frankly rises to the level of high crimes and misdemeanors in my humble opinion.  Indeed, as Ronald Reagan famously said, "A nation without borders is not a nation."

Denair, California Middle School Boy Originally Told Not to Fly American Flag on His Bike Due to "Racial Tensions"

In Denair, California, a 13 year old middle school student named Cody was told by the campus supervisor of his school that he needed to remove an American flag from his bicycle that he had been flying on it since returning to school this Fall.  He complied with the instructions to remove the flag while on school premises but re-installs the flag on his bike when going home.

Evidently, according to the school's superintendent, the boy is now able to keep his American flag on his bike.  He was originally told to remove the flag because of "racial tensions" from supposedly Hispanic students that were still upset over some issues since Cinco de Mayo.

The outrage generated in the press from this has evidently been huge, and understandably so.

My question, is why was this not originally used as a teaching moment?  Even though it is California, it is STILL a part of the United States and no one should ever have to be in fear of flying our nation's flag within its boundaries accordingly.  The flag represents our nation for ALL races that comprise our American population, so the racial tension argument is fallacious to begin with, for me.

Now if these tensions are being raised by foreign nationals that are attending our schools, then they need to be taught that they are indeed living in our country as legal guests (hopefully) and need to show the proper respect for the country that is providing them an education.  If they are not here legally, then that is entirely different subject that I won't digress upon in this posting for now.  Needless to say their feelings on the issue should not be heeded at all under such circumstances.

Regardless, this is where school officials should have stepped in and discussed this with the individuals that had problems with Cody flying an American flag on his bicycle in Denair, California, The United States of America.

Thankfully they have reneged on their original request and Cody is once again proudly flying the star spangle banner from the back of his bike!

American Illegal Aliens Entering Canada

The flood of American liberals sneaking across the border into Canada has intensified in the past week, sparking calls for increased patrols to stop the illegal immigration. The recent actions of the Tea Party are prompting an exodus among left-leaning citizens who fear they'll soon be required to hunt, pray, WORK, and to agree with Bill O'Reilly and Glenn Beck.

Canadian border farmers say it's not uncommon to see dozens of sociology professors, animal-rights activists, and Unitarians crossing their fields at night. "I went out to milk the cows the other day, and there was a Hollywood producer huddled in the barn," said Manitoba farmer Red Greenfield, whose acreage borders North Dakota.

"The producer was cold, exhausted and hungry. He asked me if I could spare a latte and some free-range chicken.  When I said I didn't have any, he left before I even got a chance to show him my screenplay, eh?"

In an effort to stop the illegal aliens, Greenfield erected higher fences, but the liberals scaled them. He then installed loudspeakers that blared Rush Limbaugh across the fields.  "That was real effective," he said. "The liberals became annoyed and started avoiding my property."

Officials are particularly concerned about smugglers who meet liberals near the Canadian border, pack them into Volvo station wagons and drive them across the border where they are simply left to fend for themselves.  "A lot of these people are not prepared for our rugged conditions," an Ontario border patrolman said. "I found one carload without a single bottle of imported drinking water. They did have a nice little Napa Valley Cabernet, though."

When liberals are caught, they're sent back across the border, often wailing loudly that they fear retribution from conservatives. Rumors have been circulating about plans being made to build re-education camps where liberals will be forced to drink domestic beer and watch NASCAR races.

In recent days, liberals have turned to ingenious ways of crossing the border . Some have been disguised as senior citizens taking a bus trip to buy cheap Canadian prescription drugs. After catching a half-dozen young vegans in powdered wig disguises, Canadian immigration authorities began stopping buses and quizzing the supposed senior citizens about Perry Como and Rosemary Clooney to prove that they were alive in the '50s. "If they can't identify the accordion player on The Lawrence Welk Show, we become very suspicious about their age," an official said.

Canadian citizens have complained that the illegal immigrants are creating an organic-broccoli shortage and are renting all the Michael Moore movies. "I really feel sorry for American liberals, but the Canadian economy just can't support them." an Ottawa resident said.  "How many art-history majors does one country need?"

Hate Speech and the Leftist/Progressive Media

I keep having this ridiculous reoccurring conversation with my liberal/progressive friends about how the media is "right-wing biased" in their views and that it is these right wing news groups (Fox, of course, is always at the top of their list) are always spouting vile hate speech and inciting violence towards the left.

Never mind the fact that most right-wing OPINION shows that I have heard almost unanimously and specifically say that they do not advocate violence nor want people to use intimidation tactics when engaging the militant left since that will only hurt our credibility and give them ammunition to use against the right.

All of this being said, I find it interesting that from Mike Malloy to Bill Press to Chris Matthews etc. that the left is once again coming unhinged in their hate speech.  Of course their whipping boy is President George W. Bush on the occasion of the release of his new book, Decision Points

Now I have a lot of grievances with Bush regarding his handling of our domestic and economic policies.  There is indeed room for reasonable people to offer criticisms here.  I can even see reasonable people disagreeing on the necessity of the Iraq war, but the hate and vitriol spewing from many on the left regarding Bush on this is execrable.

Funny how the progressive left gets all up in arms when someone calls Obama a socialist, or God forbid, a Marxist.  They erupt and call this nonsensical hate speech.  Then some of these very same defenders of Obama turn around and compare a President that did what he thought best to keep America and its allies safe with the Iraq war and compare him to Hitler, other mass murderers, and sociopaths such as Ted Bundy.  Amazing.

See the attached video below for a sampling of this even-handedness in political discourse:

Happy Birthday to My Daughters

Today, November 11th... Veterans Day, is my oldest daughter's birthday.  J has brought so much love and joy to my and my wife's life.  She has always been strong of will and blessed with a very good heart.  She adores our grandkids and is a fantastic mother.  Her world revolves around her kids.  Honey, I am so very proud of you and the terrific lady you have become.  It is so difficult to be so far away, particularly on special days like today.  Know that Mom and I love you immensely and that you are our great joy, J!

And NOW, I have a huge mea culpa regarding my poor neglected middle daughter.  Indeed, I am a very horrible father.  I had done a posting wishing S a happy birthday back on her special day on October 6th.  Unfortunately, there was an error with blogger and it never got posted; further, I didn't catch it until I went back to look for it today.  My deepest apologies, sweetheart!

S was always the dutiful middle child and as a little girl was an incredible ham.  The smiles and laughs she inspired throughout our home were endless.  S is probably one of the hardest working women I know.  She works a full schedule with her job, is continuing her college education after already becoming an accountant, takes care of her hubby and three kids, and somehow finds a hour or three to get sleep each day... usually.

S, I admire and love you very much.  I was so glad we were able to see you before Halloween, even though it was very brief.  I wish I could have been there a little earlier to have celebrated your birthday with you too.  Likewise, Mom and I are very proud of you and the person you are!  I love and miss you dearly, honey.

Soros Has ‘Fun’ Subversively & Adversely Affecting Societies; Lays Out His Plan For America

George Soros' manipulation and creation of chaos in the world to enrich himself while trying to bring about a one world order is incredibly frightening.  First, because the progressive left has benefited greatly from Soros' largess in trying to achieve that goal of a global government, and second because he has already had some great success in bringing this evil goal to fruition.

George Soros is a man who's motives and dealings must be immediately brought into the light so that the whole world can see and then stop this man from his current path.  Why this man who has destroyed national currencies and wreaked havoc on the economies of many nations, including America's, has not been charged, tried, convicted and incarcerated accordingly, is amazing to me.  What Soros has done is nothing less than economic terrorism.

George Soros, The Federal Reserve, And the War on the Dollar

Cliff Kincaid of Canada Free Press wrote an excellent but chillingly disturbing article that encapsulated what many of us that have been paying attention to the Federal Reserve and George Soros already knew or suspected.  It would seem that they both are working ultimately towards the collapse of the dollar.  While the former seems to be doing so through sheer incompetence, the latter is working to do so by design.

In an excerpt from Kincaid's story he discusses an interview conducted by Accuracy in Media with financial expert and author of The Wizards of Wallstreet, Zubi Diamond.  In this interview, Diamond expresses his "deep disgust with the Federal Reserve’s decision to print more money and buy more U.S. debt, saying it is a sign that the U.S. capitalist system is moving closer to collapse."

Further, Kincaid writes:

...Diamond went on to say, “The Fed is following the economic models of Third World countries by printing more money and devaluing their currencies. If you keep doing what Third World economies do, eventually you will become a Third World economy.”

The Fed’s new action, labeled “quantitative easing” or QE2, follows a first attempt at “QE,” known as QE1. QE means that the Federal Reserve is printing more money and buying more government debt. In total, according to Investor’s Business Daily, “the Fed will have created $2.5 trillion out of the blue.”  (emphasis mine)

“What is most troubling to me about this,” Diamond added, “is that the Fed’s QE2 is in alignment with George Soros’s agenda to destroy global capitalism.” The decline of the dollar “is what George Soros wants and what he has proposed in the past,” he noted.

Soros, the billionaire hedge fund operator who finances various leftist and Marxist groups, including Media Matters, has made his fortune by betting on the collapse of national economies and currencies. He was convicted of insider trading in France.

Media Matters recently received $1 million from Soros so that it could try to mute the effectiveness of conservative media organizations and personalities, some of them critical of Soros.

Diamond states that if continuation down this path is not stopped immediately then the collapse of capitalism will net George Soros and members of his hedge fund a gargantuan pay day. “They are betting against the dollar and moving assets to gold and to the emerging economies. They are betting against U.S. survival as a capitalist nation,”  says Mr. Diamond. (again, emphasis are mine)

Diamond’s criticism follows the shocking statements of Charles Ortel, managing director of Newport Value Partners, who told AIM that the Federal Reserve plan to buy $600 billion of U.S. Government securities “borders on the criminal” because the impact will be the devaluation of the dollar by 20 percent and the destruction of $10 trillion of household net worth.

...Charles Ortel had told AIM that the result of the upheaval will be a new “global regulatory regime” to manage the U.S. and other economies. In this regard, talk of global taxes by the United Nations has increased recently and Obama himself endorsed the concept in a document adopted by the September 20-22 U.N. Summit on the Millennium Development Goals.

So George Soros is further positioning his resources in order to weaken the dollar while investing in emerging nations and buying up gold.  He has invested millions upon millions of dollars in left wing media entities to shout down and try to silence his critics, all the while Chairman Ben Bernake of the Federal Reserve, almost in synchronization with Soros' plan, works to monetize our debt and thereby further destroy the value of the U.S. dollar.

This does indeed look like the formation of the perfect storm.  While, Soros will be more difficult to deal with, the Federal Reserve needs to be stopped by President Obama and Congress immediately before they continue to devalue our currency further.  The collapse of our economy, and indeed of capitalism, may very well be the result otherwise.  One also wonders if this is indeed what President Obama wishes also.

Progressives Won the Mid-term Elections, Says the Institute for Policy Studies

I came across what I thought was a rather counter-intuitive story, but had to admit that in some respects the progressives are correct when they claim that things are now better for them, albeit I strongly suspect this is only a momentary condition.

You see, Karen Dolan, who is a staffer at the Institute for Policy Studies, a progressive think tank that has large sway over congressional Democratic policies and the Obama administration, wrote this story claiming how it was the moderate Democrats (the Blue Dogs) that were largely decimated in last week's elections.  Indeed only three  of the over eighty progressive Democrats lost their seats.  (Thankfully the egregious and dishonest Alan Grayson (D-FL) was one of those three.)

Now these remaining progressives are all pretty much from hard core deep-blue districts where fear of tacking further to the left is non-existent.  Indeed, it would likely help them further entrench themselves in congress were they to do so.  And, considering the fact that they have nothing to lose now by advocating even further left policies and don't have the conservative or moderate Democrats to deal with in trying to moderate their voice, I strongly suspect you will see an even greater polarization of our congress and even more extremist left-wing legislation being proposed, particularly in the lame duck session of congress before the new congress is sworn in come January.

The scary thing is that these progressives are advocating that President Obama issue executive orders and govern by fiat on any issues that they cannot get through the Republican controlled House of Representatives.  Look for the battle to be fully joined and to become even more intense.

This is  the choice we Americans will have to make in 2012.  Which way do we want the country to go?
I am optimistic for the first time in a long while that we are headed for the right decisions on the matter.

Below, is an excerpt of the posting by Karen Dolan from the Institute for Policy Studies website.

As touching as it was to see Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) choke up over the retelling of his hard-knock life story of having to be a waiter in his dad's bar, tears are not so attractive on the faces of Progressives this morning. Did we all miss the news flash? PROGRESSIVES WON! Two significant exceptions are of course the tragic defeat of Sen. Russ Feingold (D-WI) and the sad loss of principled Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL). But, the Congressional Progressive Caucus, the largest caucus in the House Democratic Caucus at over 80 members, emerged virtually unscathed, losing only three members.

By contrast, the conservative Blue Dog Democratic caucus was more than sliced in half from 54 members to only 26. Further, of the 34 conservative Dems who voted against Obama's Healthcare Reform, a mere 12 won re-election.

Dead weight gone. Good Riddance. The blame for the stalemate to come can now fall squarely where it belongs...on the anti-progressive, anti-democratic, anti-populist Republican members of Congress.

Our work is now finally beginning. The veil of a happy Democratic governing majority is finally lifted. We didn't have it then; We don't have it now. But what we do have now is a more solidly progressive bunch of Dems in Congress and a president presumably less encumbered by the false illusion that playing nice will get him a date with the other team.

Let's thank Grayson, as well as Reps. John Hall (D-NY) Phil Hare (D-IL) for their principled time in office. Let's get Feingold on the ticket as Obama's runningmate in 2012. Let's throw our support unabashedly behind the Congressional Progressive Caucus and let's push Obama to finally do the right thing through as many Executive Orders as we can present to him.

People...Progressives WON!!! Republicans are all over the map. They're a mess and won't be able to wreak the havoc they seek. We should be energized. We must be energized. Too much is at stake. The road ahead isn't so bad as long as we have the big picture and the fighting spirit spurring us on. Progressives will be the heroes in 2012. Let's make Obama one too.

Congressional Republicans better hold the line and stick to what they promised because they will indeed have a fight on their hands until 2012.

Gov. Christie Explains Why Economy Must Have Continued Stability of Bush Tax Cuts

I know that New Jersey Governor Christie has ruled out running for president in 2012, but I sure hope there is some way to draft him and convince him otherwise.  His toughness and common sense are precisely what we need to restore America.

Driscoll Middle School Comes Up With a Great Trick Play

I suspect my poor Seahawks would have fallen for this trick play too.

Jim DeMint Defends Tea Party Candidates in Last Elections

Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC) was one of the few conservative members of congress that actually endorsed and supported many of the conservative Tea Party candidates this last election and he has taken some flack from the elitist GOP establishment types for his having done so.  Many of them, such as fellow South Carolinian Senator Lindsey Graham, have said that supporting these conservative candidates instead of more viable moderate candidates is what caused the GOP to not recapture control of the senate.

Senator Graham stated, "If you think what happened in Delaware is 'a win' for the Republican Party, then we don't have a snowball's chance to win the White House.  If you think Delaware was a wake-up call for Republicans then we have a shot at doing well for a long time."

Yes, and that is why when we put up moderate candidates for president such as Bob Dole and John McCain, the Democrats end up winning.  Your strategy is poor in outcome as well as principle, Senator Graham.

Further, I would say to Senator Graham, that you are part of the problem then, sir.  By not standing on principle but rather wanting simply to gain and exercise power, you and the rest of the elitist GOP establishment have shown what truly matters to you.  Your "moderation" on many core conservative principles have already been noted, particularly in the last term.  Evidently, Senator Graham, you absolutely missed the message from this center-right nation of ours.

We The People are sick of moderates and want solid conservative elected officials to do our will.  If you think compromising to draw leftist voters into your camp is the way to go, you might want to ask soon-to-be-former Utah Senator Bob Bennett and his conservative Tea Party successor Mike Lee if that really is the way to gain power and move forward in the long run.

Kudos to Senator DeMint for understanding this and for standing on principle in support of those that will strengthen and return our nation to what it was intended to be.

Dennis Prager on The Greatest Threat to America

Despite the fact that this video was shot prior to the election in order to rally Americans as to the importance of this last week's casting of ballots, Dennis Prager's comments are excellent and he absolutely is correct on what the greatest threat to America is.  Please avail yourself of the nine minutes it takes to watch this profound video.

H/T to Carrie!

AARP Tells Employees That Their Health Care Premiums Will Rise in 2011

During the course of the debate over health care reform last year and earlier this year AARP, the powerful senior lobby, came out inexplicably in support of the Obamacare legislation despite the fact that part of that un-constitutional law mandated that $500 billion dollars would be cut from Medicaid in order to help fund the unwieldy provisions within the Obamacare reform.

What at first seemed to be the case of the AARP endorsing something that would effectively harm the interests of its members became clear when delving a little deeper into the situation.  With the reduction in government spending for Medicare, the insurance gaps for seniors would necessarily be greater, thus allowing AARP to sell additional insurance and gap coverage.  In the end, this was only about increasing profits for the AARP instead of the desired mission of actually advocating for seniors.  It was reported that anywhere up to 60,000 AARP members resigned in disgust over the AARP's endorsement of Obamacare accordingly.

Now, fast forward to October 25th when Jennifer Hodges, AARP's director of compensation and benefits, sent out an email to AARP employees, which was obtained by the Associated Press, informing them that the costs for their health care premiums would be increasing from 8 to 13 percent next year due to rapidly rising medical costs.

Ms. Hodges wrote in that email,

“Most plan co-pays and deductibles have been modified. Plan value changes were necessary not only from a cost management standpoint but also to ensure that AARP’s plans fall below the threshold for high-cost group plans under health care reform.”

Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley immediately responded in a written statement,

“AARP supported a partisan health care overhaul that cut Medicare by almost $500 billion. That will result in less choice, fewer benefits and decreased access to care for millions of its members. But now we hear that AARP’s members aren’t the only ones who will bear the brunt of the new health care law. Like companies across the country, AARP is shifting more costs onto employees in reaction to the health care overhaul. Despite their employer’s support, AARP employees are learning that the health care law is not going to address the top priority of making health care coverage less expensive. Supporters of the law tend to have tunnel vision and focus on how it will affect narrow groups of people, rather than recognizing that most people will just end up paying more. But the big picture is clear.  Employers and employees nationwide will pay more for health care because of the new law.”

In the end, the unconstitutional Obamacare act was largely unwanted by the American people because it did not even address many of the issues that it was supposed to fix.  It ultimately would only exacerbate the problems in rising health care costs.  The AARP knew this would be the case, and still chose to endorse a bad law that was very much against the interests of it members.  Now the employees of AARP that supported this law are beginning to see what it is they have wrought.  I hate to say it, but we told you so!

Perhaps the AARP may be able to redeem itself somewhat when the Republicans submit legislation to repeal Obamacare, if the AARP will admit that they were mistaken and now wish to endorse repealing the pernicious law so that new health care legislation can be drafted that actually fixes our health care insurance problems.  Only then can they honestly claim that they are once again looking out for the best interests of their members.

An Uncompromising Mid-Term Election Win

Beginning Tuesday evening when it was apparent to even the most liberal television commentator that the Republican party would take control of the House of Representatives with near historic gains not seen in most living peoples' lifetime, they all seemed to immediately switch gears and began to put forth the notion that now the GOP had to govern instead of just obstruct; in other words, they were going to have to learn to compromise with the Senate and President Obama.

Really?  That is the recommendation from the "objective" main stream media, all of the remaining Democrats in office, and even some of the elitist establishment Republicans?  The Republicans will have to compromise?

With the fervor and intensity of the tsunami that just washed the Republicans into the House, how can these people seriously think that compromise is what most of the voters in this still center-right nation wanted when they cast their ballots three days ago?  I am thinking there is more "house cleaning" to do in 2012, if you'll pardon the pun, since evidently there are still a few folks that didn't GET THE MESSAGE!

Now, I am not surprised by this tactic.  Indeed, President Obama laid the groundwork for this in a New York Times story by Peter Baker back on October 12th, where Baker wrote,

Obama expressed optimism to me that he could make common cause with Republicans after the midterm elections. "It may be that regardless of what happens after this election, they feel more responsible," he said, "either because they didn't do as well as they anticipated, and so the strategy of just saying no to everything and sitting on the sidelines and throwing bombs didn't work for them, or they did reasonably well, in which case the American people are going to be looking to them to offer serious proposals and work with me in a serious way. "

It is striking to me, since when the Democrats have taken the reins of government in the past, they have never stated seriously that they intended to work with Republicans and compromise; nor have their allies in the media ever suggested such a proposal either.

Indeed, after Obama's election in 2008, despite occasional campaign rhetoric to the contrary, Obama had no intention of compromising with the Republican members of congress even then.  In fact, many folks may recall that just three days after his inauguration when the new president had gathered congressional leaders of both parties to the Whitehouse to discuss his proposed economic stimulus, House Republican Whip Eric Cantor gave President Obama a list of modest proposals for the bill. Obama said he would consider the GOP ideas, but told the assembled Republicans that "elections have consequences" and "I won." As I said, President Obama had no intention of compromising on his policies from the very beginning.

Can anyone imagine that when in 2006 when the Democrats took control of congress saying, "Well we still have two more years of George W. Bush, so we will have to work with him and compromise."?  Heck no, nor would I honestly expect them to have ever done so.  This, evidently, is just another example of one of the Democrats' double standards that should only apply to their loyal opposition.

Well, let me say something loud and clear to my newly elected officials, and to those that escaped the voters' wrath this time.  You good people were elected not to compromise but rather to repeal the un-Constitutional Obamacare act, ensure that cap & trade legislation is not passed, cut spending across the board, secure our national borders, and ensure that taxes are not raised in the midst of this recession.

You do NOT compromise on any of these agenda items or there will be a huge repeat of this last election come 2012.  And,accordingly, the Republican Party will have rendered itself inconsequential since conservatives will relegate them to the sidelines as they take control of congress.

Compromise is largely what brought America to this brink.  We even compromised with a Democrat-lite presidential candidate for the GOP in 2008 and thus lost.  Why get a wanna-be when you can vote for the real thing?  Ironically, even John McCain has tacked right as he saw the writing on the wall if he continued his "maverick" ways.

The bottom line is this: We need senators and congressmen that will follow and defend the Constitution, cut government waste and spending to austerity levels, and listen to the will of the people.  We need a hell of a lot more Jim DeMint's and a lot less Lindsey Graham's in other words.

We The People voted you folks in to address these items, and so you shall, or we will replace you with those who will in two years.  In the meantime, there is no room for compromising when what you are doing is right.  Indeed, why would anyone wish to compromise with policies that have brought us to these perilous times?  One does not compromise when the object of such compromise is wrong!  Stay steady and true!

Obama: Tone Deaf and Heading on $2 Billion Trip to India and Southeast Asia

The dust has not even settled nor all of the carnage of the Democratic Party carried away after yesterday's near historic record-setting sea-change in congress with the American people vehemently and unmistakably repudiating President Obama and the Congressional Democrats' agenda of severe fiscal malfeasance, and yet President Obama is still seemingly oblivious to the message.

The Democrats' unwanted and largely ineffective spending which has added over $5 Trillion more to the national debt since having taken control of congress in 2007, including the passage of the un-constitutional health care act, were the primary impetus for voters' anger yesterday according to most exit polling.

So what does President Obama intend to do to correct his course?  Why, he plans to leave the country for ten days starting with a visit to Mumbai, India.  The costs estimated for this ten day trip are $200 million dollars a day, or for those not wanting to do the math, 2 BILLION dollars for the entire trip.

"The huge amount of around $200 million (a day) would be spent on security, stay and other aspects of the Presidential visit," a top official of the Maharashtra Government privy to the arrangements for the high-profile visit said.  An entourage of around 3000 people will be accompanying the presidential delegation including government officials, journalists, and Secret Service personnel.  Of course President Obama will be accompanied on the trip with his wife Michelle and their two daughters, Malia and Sasha.

The entire Taj Mahal Tower Hotel, 570 rooms in all, have been rented for the Presidential visit accordingly.

Now I certainly don't begrudge our president having adequate security on foreign travels, but it certainly strikes me as ludicrous to have 3000 people traveling with him in over 40 planes, while ferrying six armored vehicles, and several Marine One helicopters for his use while abroad.

To add insult to injury, India is not expecting any "big bang" results from the forthcoming visit of  President Barack Obama, India's Foreign Secretary has said.  In other words this trip does not significantly advance the interests of America nor India.  It, seemingly, is a "much needed" vacation with a little diplomacy thrown in to justify the trip.

So with all of this being said, it strikes me that our president, despite the horrific losses his party just suffered at the hands of irate American voters yesterday, still has not heard nor understood the message we sent.  Surely a man of such intelligence cannot be that politically tone deaf and that foolish!

With millions of people still searching for employment and the economy still not showing any significant signs of improvement, is spending $2 Billion dollars on a trip to India, South Korea, and Indonesia really the best use of President Obama's time and our taxpayers' dollars right now?  I guess he will be surprised when he gets our next message in November of 2012.  I guarantee you that message will be heard by him as he packs his belongings to return to Chicago!

UPDATE 11/4/2010: There have been multiple sources now reporting that are skeptical as to the original claims regarding the amount of money to be spent on President Obama's trip.  No credible source is able to cite what actual costs for the trip will be, however.  The Whitehouse has stated that the cost numbers are wildly inflated but have cited security reasons for not disclosing an exact figure.  Suffice it to say, that the actual amount of money being spent is indeed likely lower than what the Indian Government official originally claimed.

Nontheless, the 3000 member entourage, 40 planes, etc. still are ludicrous and will be exorbitantly expensive in addition to the entire rented Taj Mahal Towers Hotel.  The main premise of this posting, that the expenses incurred on this excursion to India that serve no significant U.S. interests immediately following the message sent by the American people after Tuesday's elections still strikes one as being politically tone deaf.  The spending of what will still amount to many hundreds of millions of dollars regardless does not strike one as being very fiscally warranted or prudent, accordingly.
